Although the world of fashion and video games do not collaborate as often as many of us would like, it was recently revealed that Aloy, the protagonist of Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, He has become the first video game character to appear on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine.
As part of the celebrations for the launch of Horizon Forbidden West On February 18, the digital edition of Vanity Fair revealed that Aloy has become the protagonist of the most recent cover of this magazine. Here we can see the message of “Aloy e la rivoluzione”, or “Aloy and the revolution”.
In response, this is what he commented Angie Smets, Executive Producer, Guerrilla Gamesduring an interview in this edition of the digital magazine:
“It is deeply wrong to think that players are always and only men. If we look at the latest PlayStation stats, we find that around 42 percent of gamers are female. I firmly believe that we have managed to create a character that players like, regardless of whether they are male or female. We’re much more interested in what happens to the character under the surface than how he appears on the outside.”
This is not the first time something like this has happened.. Let us remember that Lightning, protagonist of final fantasy xiiiwas a model for Louis Vuitton in the past, and this same fashion company created a clothing line inspired by League of Legends. It will be interesting to see what the next collaboration between these two markets will be.
On related topics, Horizon Forbidden West was delayed to avoid crunch. Similarly, this game has been the victim of review bombing.
