Emirati cyclist Mohammed Al Balushi, the world champion of motorcycles, excelled in the Baja Tour – Jordan within the FIM-Baha World Cup for Desert Rallies short rounds, by achieving first place and the lead in the general ranking in the two-day tour.
The competitions were held, with the participation of 30 contestants, in order to continue the journey towards the title of the world championship, while the distance of the competitions, which was held in 3 stages, reached 1000 km.
Al Balushi is preparing to participate in the BAHA Tour – Qatar, which will start on March 25th, aspiring to achieve the lead.
Al Balushi expressed his great confidence in exceeding the next round that will be held in Doha, in order to reach the desired goal, pointing out that he decided not to risk the first round that was held in Jordan in order to prepare for the upcoming rounds, stressing his ambition to achieve the lead in the next round as well.
He added: My ambition is great on behalf of the UAE to achieve championships, and I will spare no effort in achieving this and repeating what was achieved in 2018. The goals and ambitions are great in the coming period.
Al Balushi was crowned world champion in 2018 as the first Arab and Asian to achieve this title. He also previously won the Hail Rally and Bahrain Rally 2020, and is the most prominent candidate for the title of world champion this season.
