Guadalajara Jalisco.- The state of Jalisco is the second in the country with more requests for patent registrationafter CDMX.
For their recorded discoveries, Leslie Becerril, Alejandra Cerpa and Ruth de Celis are listed today, Mexican Inventor’s Day.
Develop gel to filter lubricants
From cacti and seeds, Martha Alejandra Cerpa Gallegos and her team developed a coupling adhesive gel useful for the Automotive industry.
After two years of research developed a gel which can be used in the filtration of automotive lubricants and fuels for better purification, and is friendly to the environment because it can be used together with waste fibers for filtration, he said.
“It is designed with natural molecules from seeds and some plants, and taking advantage of that potential and its nature of compatibility with fibers, since it can be used with untreated fibers,” said Cerpa Gallegos in an interview.
He explained that one of the problems that the industry faces when working with waste fibers is that they have to be previously treated, while this gel allows them to be used without processing.
They are already in negotiations with the industry to take this patent to its commercial application.
Help treat diabetes mellitus
With the premise that medications alone do not solve chronic-degenerative conditions such as Mellitus diabetesbut must be complemented with a proper diet and physical activity, Ruth Araceli from Celis Carrillo created a food supplement to better assimilate the treatments.
The independent investigator explained in an interview that it took between 5 and 6 years to develop until patenting this nutritional supplement It helps patients lower cholesterol, triglyceride, and blood glucose levels.
“It is an adjuvant for your medication. For example, a diabetic You have to take medications, but this supplement will help all of your medications to work more optimally and the patient will feel better,” he added.
De Celis Carrillo affirmed that she and her team they will seek to cede the patent to the IMSSfor the supplement to be developed and offered to patients.
Make the most of amaranth
After knowing the benefits of the seed of amaranthLeslie Becerril Serna searched for a method to take better advantage of them.
Thus, developed a univa patent and the University Center for Agricultural Biological Sciences (CUCBA), of the UdeGof a method of obtaining hydrolysates of fractions of “Amaranthus hypochondriacus”, which help lower blood glucose levelsand that can be used to develop beverages and biopharmaceuticals, shared the researcher.
“In a more practical way, we had a benefit from its proteins with hydrolysates, that is, we put the protein to a simulated digestionso to speak, to generate hydrolysis, that is, smaller molecules that have the ability to enter the cell more quickly and exert a hypoglycemic effect,” he explained.
