In the Oryol region in 2021, the number of accidents decreased by 12.2% compared to 2020. This was announced by the head of the UGIBDD of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, police colonel Alexander Korshunov.
“As a result of the work within the framework of the national project “Safe and high-quality roads”, all the tasks set were completed. So, in 2021, the number of accidents in the region decreased by 12.2%, the number of injured decreased by 11%, and the number of deaths by 38%,” the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region says.
In total, 70 people died in road accidents during the year, 886 were injured. There were 69 accidents involving children. One child died, another 74 were injured. In general, the number of accidents with minors decreased by 30%.
As clarifies InfoOrel.ru, traffic police officers in 2021 stopped about 730 thousand administrative offenses. Including 2213 drivers who were driving while intoxicated were detained, of which 277 were detained repeatedly.
In the first month of 2022, 18,905 traffic violations were recorded.
On February 14, the Russian traffic police reminded motorists of the sanctions for giving a bribe to a traffic police inspector. According to Part 1 of Art. 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, for giving a bribe to an official, a fine is provided in the amount of up to 500 thousand rubles, or in the amount of the salary or other income of the convicted person for a period of up to one year, or in the amount of five to thirty times the amount of the bribe.
