As reported by Production Weekly, Star Wars Ahsoka, one of the Disney series in production, is about to begin production. In addition, the new season of The Mandalorian he should have almost finished shooting.
Specifically, Star Wars Ahsoka should begin production by the end of January 2022. The Mandalorian Season 3, however, should finish filming by March 2022. This suggests that this season will arrive on Disney + towards the end of the year.
As always, we remind you that what is reported is not an official confirmation. Production Weekly is a well-known source, but there are multiple factors that could delay the start and completion of work on Star Wars TV series, such as Covid-19.
Starting with the first season of The Mandalorian, Lucasfilm has used cutting-edge shooting techniques: let’s talk about “The Volume“, a stage almost completely surrounded by digital screens. This means that virtually any scene, whether indoor or outdoor, could be shot in this isolated location, as the digital backdrops accurately reflect the lighting conditions needed for each scene. Thanks to the fact that both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett use these shooting techniques, a smaller work environment is created and the production can have tighter control over who enters or leaves the area, making sure only those who are vaccinated or are negative result to COVID could get closer to the scene. Hopefully this will be enough to avoid production problems at the shows. Some scenes, however, have to be filmed outside.
