The Colombian national team is preparing for a friendly match against Honduras next Sunday, January 16, which will take place in the United States. In the face of this duel, coach Reinaldo Rueda made a call in which he will look for alternatives for the closing of the South American Qualifiers.
Among those summoned was striker Cristian Arango, one of the great revelations in MLS since he arrived at Los Angeles FC. Unfortunately it was reported that the 26-year-old will not be available because in one of the routine tests for COVID-19 it came out positive and he must comply with the health protocols before his contagion.
The ‘Chicho’ comes from scoring 14 goals in 17 games played since he joined the Los Angeles squad in mid-2021. This led him to be recognized by the US championship with the award to the reveal of the season.
At the moment it has not been announced if Rueda intends to bring a replacement to occupy Arango’s space in the squad, however, he seems to have enough arguments to face the commitment with Fredy Hinestroza, Juan Fernando Quintero, Hárold Preciado, Miguel Borja, Yásica Asprilla and Yimmi Chará.
