The criminals who killed a five-year-old girl in Kostroma must be punished in the strictest manner. This was announced on Wednesday, January 5, by State Duma deputy and former children’s ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova.
“One of the detainees had already been convicted of pedophilia earlier. Since 2018, we have been seeking the adoption of a law to toughen the punishment for crimes against the sexual integrity of minors. In the fall, the bill was submitted to the State Duma. But that’s not all, ”she said.
In addition, Kuznetsova said that for pedophiles, it is necessary to introduce lifelong administrative supervision, organize supervision, and exclude the possibility of parole. Also, according to her, in addition to toughening punishment for pedophiles, it is necessary to understand why the number of crimes against the sexual inviolability of children is growing in Russia.
“It’s important to understand what’s going on. The reasons why for 10 years the growth of crimes against the sexual inviolability of minors has almost doubled, by 79%, ”she said.
Earlier that day, the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin said that the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation will do everything to ensure that the bill on life imprisonment for recidivist pedophiles is adopted in January 2022.
Thus, he commented on the murder of a five-year-old girl in Kostroma.
One of the suspects, who confessed to the crime, had previously served a sentence for a crime against sexual inviolability and trafficking in pornography.
According to the investigation, the girl went for a walk on Severnaya Pravda Street, after which she was taken by two men and disappeared with the child in an unknown direction. As Izvestia found out, 44-year-old Denis G. and 24-year-old Vadim B. abused the child before the murder, after which they hid the body in a gym bag to get rid of it later, but were detained by the police. In the course of operational-search activities, investigators found the body of the deceased with multiple stab wounds in a room of one of the hostels.
The Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kostroma Region opened a criminal case into the murder of a girl on the grounds of a crime under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Murder of a minor”). The head of the RF IC, Alexander Bastrykin, demanded an operational report on the progress of the investigation.
