In the second test on the Stelvio the fastest is the Swiss Hintermann, then sixth, seventh and eighth the Azzurri. Tomorrow the race at 11.30
Two veterans and an (almost) rookie in the second timed test of the Bormio descent the big names hide, but without exaggerating and trying only the key passages there are two Azzurri in the top 10. I’m Matteo Marsaglia (sixth at 2 ”06 from fastest, the Swiss Niels Hintermann) and Dominik Paris (Dominik Paris seventh at 2 “09), but the surprise is the eighth place (at 2” 63) of the home athlete Pietro Zazzi, 27 years old from Bormio, who went down with bib number 61 and the fourth career World Cup downhill after Bormio a year ago, Garmisch (47th) and Gardena (53rd).

Just out of the ten, in thirteenth position, Mattia Casse at 2 ”63, then 29th Nicolò Molteni, Guglielmo Bosca 34th, Matteo Franzoso 50th, Giovanni Franzoni 54th and Christof Innerhofer 55th. “I tried the upper part a bit, finding some holes on which I didn’t feel great – commented Paris -. I think I have taken the measures: tomorrow we will have to risk and put everything on track. A nice frozen snow in the upper part, where you can’t correct a lot, but still pretty tough. In the lower part it changes and becomes more aggressive, but in general a nice moving track. It’s like playing poker: if you find the right line you can be very fast, but if you lower your odds you risk losing a lot ”.
Tomorrow the descent is scheduled at 11.30, then two super-Gs on Wednesday and Thursday, again at 11.30.
