K-pop band Three of BTS members have contracted the coronavirus after returning to South Korea from a concert tour in the United States, according to AFP news agency.
Infected members use the artist name Suga Min Yoon-gi, RM ie Kim Nam-line and known as Jin Kim Seok-Jin.
Suga and RM infections are said to be asymptomatic, while Jin has a mild fever.
Production company Big Hit Music says all three have been vaccinated against coronary heart disease and the band members have not been in close contact with each other since returning to South Korea. According to the production company, BTS members have complied with voluntary home quarantine.
South Korean BTS was worldwide Spotify’s third most streamed band or artist in 2021.
BTS’s concert tour in the United States ended in early December, after which seven members of the band have been on vacation.
The band was named Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards in November. BTS song Butter won the title of Best Pop of the Year at the same awards gala.
In 2020, BTS postponed its planned world tour due to a coronavirus pandemic. The canceled tour would have included about 40 concerts in Asia, North America and Europe.
