Since there are a lot of new words to introduce into the vocabulary, it is understandable that at first glance it may turn out rather complicated. First of all, we know some terms. Let’s start with the various dishes! The charger: also called a serving plate, this element is a flat plate that contributes to giving the basic idea of the design you choose to adopt.
This is not the dish where you eat: it is only one decoration. Plate for the dinner: this is a large dish (usually 10-11 inches) that is used to serve the main meal. Precisely for this reason, they can also be replaced with depending on the number of courses on the menu. Plate for the salad: this is an 8 inch looking dish, intended for serving salads and appetizers.
Bread Plate: This is the smallest plate (6-7 inches) and is used for serving bread And butter. We continue with the various silverware. Fork for the dinner: this is the largest fork on the table and is used to eat the main dish. Therefore, this fork is the one that will be changed at each course number, as well as the corresponding dish.
Fork from fish: this is a fork in the shape of a trident and is reserved only if the menu has a fish course. Finally, the dessert fork is the smallest one and reserved for dessert. As for the knives, the rules and names reflect the same of the various forks. In the spoons instead there is a different name. This is the soup spoon, which normally has a deeper curve.
