Persona 5 Royal for PC to be announced at the Game Awards?
A PC port of Persona 5 Royal could be announced soon, potentially already ai The Game Awards. As noted by a Twitter user, Atlus recently updated his profile Steam to indicate 14 projects instead of the previous 13. It’s worth noting that the publisher’s Steam database archive confirms that it only has 11 games on Steam, so technically there’s room for three new projects.
This update came on the heels of an Australian evaluation committee listing for an unspecified Atlus project with the codename Project Pen, which was unveiled last month on November 4th.
All we know about Project Pen is that its Australian rating mirrors Persona 5 Royal, from the overall MA15 + rating down to specific content types. The original Persona 5, the new Shin Megami Tensei 5, and the newly launched Shin Megami Tensei 4 (and exclusive to the Nintendo Switch) all differ in their classifications.
We also know that Atlus is interested in bringing more games to PC. As Haruki Satomi, now CEO of Sega Sammy, Sega’s subsidiary holding, said last year: “We will continue to actively promote the porting of previously released titles to Steam and new platforms. We are also negotiating with platform owners for new games in the future and are considering ways to sell on favorable terms for each title, including measures such as preparing PC versions of the titles from the start, with cross-platform launches in mind.“.
We just have to wait for these two days that separate us at The Game Awards to find out more eventually.
