The decorative elements will start to light up as they are placed
The works prior to the installation of the extraordinary Christmas lighting in Murcia will begin this Tuesday afternoon with the placement of the anchors to hold the decorative elements in different streets of the municipality, starting in the Gran Vía, according to sources from the City Council of Murcia in a statement.
Thus, starting on Wednesday, five teams will work on the placement of the Christmas decorations, which will light up as they are installed, as explained by the same sources. In this way, the Gran Vía will feature 27 arches of 16 meters with about 13,000 LED lights in golden and white tones, in line with the 10 arches that will be installed on the Avenida de la Constitución.
The rest of the streets that will be adorned with extraordinary lighting are Aurora Street with 7 arches of about 3 meters with 1,700 LEDs; Silverware and Trapería, with 32 arches of between 3 and 5 meters with 5,000 LEDs; Soap shops-Society, with 10 arches of between 4 and 5 meters with 3,400 LEDs; and Cánovas del Castillo, with 6 arches of between 4 and 5 meters of 3,400 LEDs.
The Plaza de Santa Eulalia will also be illuminated with 10 five-meter arches with 3,400 LEDs; Madre de Dios and Jara Carrillo, with 8 arches of about 7 meters with 5,100 LEDs; Ronda de Garay, with 7 arches; Cartagena street and Marqués de Corvera promenade with 20 arches; Plaza de San Antolín, Virgen de la Esperanza, Sculptor Roque López y Junterones, with 11 arches; Ronda Norte and Primo de Rivera, with 17 arches of 7 meters with 5,100 LEDs; Correos Street, with 32 arches of 10 meters with 7,800 LEDs.
Likewise, Gutiérrez Mellado and Jaime I with 11 arches will be illuminated; Floridablanca and Princesa, with 19 arches of 10 meters and 7,800 LEDs; Santa Teresa, with 11 arches; Plan of San Francisco and Battle of the Flowers, with 6 arches; Puente Viejo and Canalejas, with 10 arches; San Antón and San Andrés, with 18 arches; Lieutenant Flomesta, with 18 bows; Mariano Tejera, Chronicler Valcárcel and Paseo Marqués de los Vélez, with 13 arches; Alfonso X, with 30 overlights of 2,000 LEDs; and Ronda de Levante, with 20 central motifs of 1,700 LEDs.
In addition, different fountains such as the one in the Plaza de los Apóstoles and the one in the Plaza de Las Flores will be covered with special models of 10,000 LEDs. Illuminated cones will also be installed, and in other luminous photocalls in different locations, such as the Plaza de Santo Domingo and Avenida de la Libertad.
The City Council will install this extraordinary lighting for the first time to districts thanks to the contract for the supply under lease, design, installation, maintenance service and disassembly of materials for extraordinary lighting in the Spring Festivities, Murcia Fair, Christmas, festivals popular and other events.
