The ex-president of Ukraine, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Petro Poroshenko on Saturday, December 4, called on Western countries to develop “hellish sanctions” against Russia. He stated this, speaking on the air of the Italian channel Sky TG24…
According to the Ukrainian politician, Moscow must be made to understand that in case of intensification of “military aggression against Ukraine”, it will receive a serious rebuff.
“Ukraine needs lethal defensive weapons, and for the Kremlin – a list of” hellish “sanctions that will be introduced in the event of an offensive,” Poroshenko stressed.
In addition, he noted that Kiev does not need NATO soldiers, because the country allegedly has already created one of the “strongest and most effective armies” in Europe.
“We are able to defend our land ourselves, but we certainly need defensive weapons and ‘hellish’ sanctions against Russia today if the aggression continues,” the former Ukrainian leader explained.
On December 4, the American newspaper The Washington Post, citing officials in the US administration, reported that Russia in early 2022 allegedly intends to invade Ukraine, using “up to 175 thousand troops.” The publication referred to satellite images and reported that the forces of the Russian Federation are concentrated in four points.
On the same day, the Russian embassy in the United States replied that Russia does not threaten anyone, and that it is the sovereign right of any state to move its troops across its own territory.
Earlier, a number of Western media also announced a possible Russian “invasion”. In particular, on November 22, the American agency Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that, according to US intelligence, Russia could allegedly plan an attack on Ukraine in early 2022 and conduct it from three directions, including through Belarus.
