Alexander Gunzburg, director of the Gamaleya Center, has dispelled a number of myths associated with the coronavirus. About this he told on the air of the NTV channel.
In particular, the scientist pointed out that vaccination does not affect the reproductive function of the body, and this was proved at the Kulakov Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition, it was confirmed that “Sputnik V” does not affect the work of genes. At the same time, according to him, in men who have had coronavirus infection, spermatogenesis is inhibited for a long period and the possibility of conception is sharply reduced.
Gunzburg also commented on the statement that those who had been ill with COVID-19 need to be vaccinated with Sputnik Light, and not with a two-component vaccine. He noted that this is half true, since people who have suffered from the disease need to go to the vaccination station in six months. If it is possible to measure the level of antibodies, and it exceeds 300, then the second component does not need to be vaccinated. But if there is no way to measure it, then it is better to vaccinate and live in peace, the scientist summed up.
Earlier, Gunzburg advocated the early introduction of QR codes in Russia. “I always insist that it is necessary not only to enter QR codes as quickly as possible, but with their help to strictly distinguish between the possibilities of communication between vaccinated and unvaccinated,” he said.
Prior to that, the head of the Gamaleya center said that the preparation of the vaccine against COVID-19 adapted for the new omicron strain of coronavirus can be created without its sample. According to the scientist, the vaccine can be adapted by knowing the nucleotide sequence of the virus, just as the center’s specialists have already done similar work for all previous strains. So far, there is no sample of the omicron-strain at the Center, they are waiting for it from the Ministry of Health, or “when we have an infected person, then we will isolate him.”
