The head of state stressed that it is necessary to strictly monitor the proper condition of the equipment of the mines and the individual life-saving equipment of workers.
Putin added that it is unacceptable to abuse the courage of the miners who descended into the Listvyazhnaya mine in Kemerovo after the accident. According to him, the work of miners is associated with increased danger, and managers and owners of enterprises, as well as control and supervisory bodies, are responsible for their lives.
The accident at Listvyazhnaya took place in the morning of November 25, 51 people died, including 5 mine rescuers. According to the latest data, 99 people were injured, 16 of whom were hospitalized. The governor of the Kemerovo region, Sergei Tsivilev, said that the families of the dead and injured will receive additional payments. So, the relatives of the victims will receive a million rubles from the regional government, the victims in serious condition – 400 thousand rubles each, the injured in a state of mild to moderate severity – 200 thousand rubles each.
