This Wednesday (01), the Federal Government sent a bill to the National Congress to make it possible to fund an 8th installment of Emergency Aid for people in vulnerable situations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite the project not being disclosed, the text should ask for the opening of a special credit of R$ 2.8 billion. The new round, however, depends on the approval of the Congress, which is already discussing the approval of the PEC dos Precatórios to fund the Auxílio Brasil, a substitute for Bolsa Família.

“The opening aims to include a new programming category in the current budget, with the objective of making it possible, within the scope of the Direct Administration of the Organ, to fund ‘Emergency Assistance for Social Protection to People in Vulnerable Situations Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic ‘. The credit will be financed by the cancellation of budget appropriations”, says the note from the General Secretariat.
Emergency Relief was created in 2020 to help the most vulnerable harmed by the covid-19 pandemic. Officially, it ended in October this year. Auxílio Brasil would be the second phase of the social program, although the beneficiary public is different.
