In the 2020-21 season he scored 38 goals and distributed 14 assists in 47 games to close a cycle at Can Barça. He reached the last 16 of the Champions League, was third in LaLiga, won the Copa del Rey and lost the final of the Spanish Super Cup. He won his first title with Argentina thanks to the achievement of the Copa América. In the voting he obtained 613 points, ahead of Robert Lewandowski (580) and Jorge Luiz Frelho “Jorginho” (460).
