Lev Simba, beaten by a Sochi flayer photographer, is now in a wildlife rehabilitation center in Tanzania, for him “tsarist conditions” have been created. This was announced on November 19 by the correspondent REN TV…
In this center, only those who will not survive in the wild are kept, – animals with disabilities who do not know how to hunt. Simba has a separate enclosure, his own pool, shelter, toys are scattered everywhere. He loves to play with buckets.
Earlier, on July 23, 2020, the general director of the travel company So.Travel, Yulia Agaeva, announced that she was organizing the return of Simba to his homeland. A team of caring people have been coordinating the repatriation of the lion for more than a year. The first official repatriation in the history of Russia was carried out by the animal rights activists with the participation of the Russian Copper Company. Russian investors specially built an aviary for Simba on the territory of the Kilimanjaro Wildlife Rescue Center and guaranteed its maintenance until the end of 2022, and then Tanzania will take care of the lion.
Prior to that, on March 25, 2020, it was reported that a sick seven-month-old lion cub was thrown into the street by “black photographers”. It was exploited on the beaches of Sochi, photographing with vacationers. In the fall, the lion cub fell ill and was thrown away as unnecessary. The animal was partially paralyzed, the spine was injured, apparently, he was beaten. Karen Dallakyan, a veterinarian from Chelyabinsk, took the lion cub and cured him. The patrons also helped the animal to undergo expensive treatment.
