Under the incessant rain of Valencia, KTM was the surprise to take the lead in the first free practice session this Friday morning. In fact, the Spaniard set the best time of the session Iker Lecuona, jumped to the top of the ranking just in the last moments before the checkered flag. Third place for Miguel Oliveira’s other Austrian bike, who seems to have recovered completely from the accident he had with Lecuona in Portimao.
Among them the Ducatis, always very fast and competitive in this last phase of the season. Jack Miller in fact he finished second just 155 thousandths from Lecuona, while Johann Zarco was fourth. Sixth place for Pecco Bagnaia, also preceded by the Suzuki of an increasingly competitive Joan Mir. Also of note for the two official reds are two crashes, which fortunately ended without consequences for the drivers.

Worth mentioning is Franco Morbidelli’s eighth place with Yamaha. The Roman rider was the only one to bring an Iwata bike to the top in the rain. Only 15th the world champion Fabio Quartararo. Valentino Rossi instead he did not complete any timed laps in his last career PL1. The Doctor limited himself to a few rounds of installation, but ended the session without time.
Bruising morning for @ducaticorse! 😲
