Update from November 5, 10:41 a.m.: Unvaccinated people in Thuringia may soon no longer be treated in hospital. This Friday, Bode Ramelow (left) was a guest in the “Morgenmagazin” on ARD and ZDF. Moderator Dunja Hayali wanted to know from the Prime Minister that the hospitals in his state no longer know where up and down is. “You already know that, but we will get into a situation in the next few days that we no longer have enough intensive care beds,” was his answer.
Because of the “pandemic of the unvaccinated” there are no longer enough hospital beds. “And we will no longer be able to guarantee anyone who comes to the hospital unvaccinated that they will still be treated here at all.” .
Thuringia has been the state with the highest incidence for weeks. According to the latest RKI figures, it is currently 386.9. Within one day, 1944 new infections were added, as well as 12 deaths from or with Covid-19. According to the RKI “Vaccination Quota Monitoring”, 70.2 percent of people over the age of 18 in Thuringia are fully vaccinated against Corona. In the age group up to 59 years, the rate is 62 percent.
Update from November 5, 9:01 a.m.: In the debate about compulsory corona vaccination for nurses, the professional association for nursing professions speaks out against such a measure. “From our point of view, the discussion about compulsory vaccination for professional carers is still lacking good data,” said Association President Christel Bienstein den spark– Friday newspapers. Resistance to compulsory vaccination also came from the Federal Association of Private Providers of Social Services (bpa).
According to the current “ARD Germany trend”, 57 percent of Germans would now support compulsory vaccination. The details of the survey here.
Record incidence for 2021 – RKI sees increased corona risk: “Very worrying”
First report from November 5th: Berlin – The peak of the third corona wave in spring 2021 has now been exceeded: The nationwide 7-day incidence is currently 169.9. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced on Friday morning. The day before, the value was 154.5.
On April 26, the incidence was 169.3. Their previous record in the entire pandemic * was in the second wave on December 22, 2020 with 197.6.
Current corona numbers for Germany: More than 37,000 new infections
According to the latest RKI * information, 37,120 new infections with the corona virus were reported within 24 hours – a new high. The day before, the number of new infections had already reached the record level of 33,949 – more than ever before in the pandemic.
There were also 154 other deaths related to the virus. The total number of registered cases of infection in Germany since the beginning of the pandemic rose to 4,709,488, the total number of deaths to 96,346.
The number of Covid-19 patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days – the most important parameter for a possible tightening of the corona restrictions – was given by the RKI on Thursday at 3.73. With the indicator it must be taken into account that hospital admissions are sometimes reported with delay. A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences. The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time.
RKI in Germany: Corona risk for unvaccinated people “very high”
The RKI classifies the health risk of incompletely or not vaccinated people in the pandemic * as “very high”. “For fully vaccinated people, the risk is assessed as moderate, but increasing due to the increasing number of infections,” says the authority’s current weekly report.
A week ago, the report described the risk for unvaccinated people as “high” and the risk for vaccinated people as “moderate”. The current development of the situation is “very worrying”, it was now said. It was recently disputed whether the federal states should also reactivate the regional vaccination centers for booster vaccinations *. (AFP / dpa / frs) * Merkur.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
