The driver was passing through the municipality and stopped to refuel at a gas station when they gave him a breathalyzer test
The
Alhama Local Police last weekend denounced a man who underwent a breathalyzer test, yielding a result classified as a criminal offense. The service took place when the agents verified that a vehicle was driving around next to a service station that was closed. When identifying the driver,
a neighbor of a town in Almería, it was found that he gave off a strong smell of alcohol, which led the agents to carry out the aforementioned test.
The driver was taken to police stations to instruct the corresponding proceedings. There they informed him that he could not circulate due to his drunken state, something that caused him to be nervous. The policemen reassured him and suggested that he notify a friend or acquaintance so that he could leave, something that finally happened when a close friend came to pick him up.
Sources outside of the Local Police indicated that when the driver was required for identification,
He indicated that he was a priest, that he was passing through the municipality, and that he was going to the province of Almería. In contrast, the commissioner of the Alhama Local Police, Toral Reina, clarifies that said information is not reflected in the report at any time, since the data on the person’s profession are irrelevant for the development of the service.
