The associative movement is highlighted as another key factor to protect the natural heritage in the days for the Day of the Forests
The reforestation actions, together with the current experiences of associative movement and sustainable management, were the main arguments of the technical conferences that have been held in Caravaca de la Cruz since yesterday, and that form the program prepared for the International Day of Forests , which is organized by the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and the Environment, the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and the Juntos por los Bosques platform.
The importance of repopulating more, together with the use of forest biomass for energy purposes and the opportunities it offers as a means of forest management focused several interventions and local initiatives of sustainable associations were presented. It ended with two technical visits in which the generation of added value in the management and restoration after the fire in Moratalla can be verified.
During the day today, various activities will take place in Caravaca aimed at the little ones, such as ‘the roulette of the forest’, and in addition, an agroforestry farm in the mountains of Cehegín will be visited, where the relationship between the agricultural territory and the the forester in the Region. Forestry companies and others related to the sector will participate in a round table on future prospects.
Finally, on Monday, on the day of San Francisco de Asís, patron saint of the forestry world, as well as with the 130 years of the repopulation of Sierra Espuña, the institutional acts will take place. The Region represents the paradigm in this area, thanks to the path undertaken 130 years ago by the forestry engineer Ricardo Codorníu.
