The candidacy of ‘Militància Decidim’ led by the former president of ERC, Oriol Junqueras, and that of ‘Nova Esquerra Nacional’, headed by Xavier Godàs, have been the two most voted in the National Congress this Saturday but, by not surpassing any 50% of the support, they will compete to lead the party in the second round on December 14.
Junqueras and Godàs have obtained 48.3% and 35.3% of the votes, respectively, and have surpassed the ‘Foc Nou’ candidacy of Helena Solà (12.6%), and the two candidates that go on to second round they have room to modify the components of their candidacy by 50% while maintaining the presidential candidate.
81.35% of ERC militants, 6,533 members, have voted electronically in the party congress to elect its president and a new leadership, out of a total of 8,030 militants called to cast their vote.
