Christmas in Madrid would not be the same without Cortylandiathe most anticipated Christmas show for children and adults in the capital. This year, the inauguration will be on Thursday, November 28 – like the lighting of the city lights -, when the façade of El Corte Inglés de Preciados will be transformed into a magical setting to host this traditional Christmas event, which already has 46 years of history.
Since its creation in 1979, Cortylandia has become an essential stop for Christmas in Madrid, and every year it surprises with a new design of his stage. In the case of 2023, for example, a 16-meter-high fir tree decorated with balls and garlands was the center of a narrative starring cats, squirrels and Christmas birds.
In the case of this year, in recent days it has been possible to see the assembly of a huge cuckoo clockas well as several small animals that will predictably parade across the roof of the hut.
Show times
In the absence of official confirmation from El Corte Inglés, Cortylandia’s schedule will predictably be similar to that of recent years. Likewise, the duration of the passes is also estimated at about 15 minutes each.
