Almost a week after the famous mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, Conor McGregor was sentenced to pay 248,000 euros for sexual assault which he committed in 2018 in Dublin, his wife, Dee Devlin, has spoken out about it. “Imagine a woman, with her own boyfriend and child, texting provocative photos of herself to another woman’s man with a family and a child on the way. “This woman claims to know me, but she still went ahead and openly sent messages and photos of herself over and over again to my man,” she explained on her Instagram. «All the time out of it in a hotel room, dancing in a hotel parking lot. What kind of woman are you!!!», he continues.
This reaction is contrary to what many expected, since there were people thinking that Devlin would take the victim’s side, but quite the opposite. It also clarifies that This incident has already been resolved in the past.. «Conor and I dealt with these issues privately many years ago, as a relationship should, and we have come out stronger than ever. We now have four beautiful children whose smiling faces and happy hearts are a testament to who he is and who we are. He who does not sin, let him cast the first stone. My man and I have created a beautiful life together. “I love him, I trust him and I believe in him!” he says.
He also wanted to mention his children, saying that “my children will be warned that there are women like you in the world. “I look forward to the day when the world sees the photos of you that night and your behavior.” In relation to this, he continued his statement by accusing Nikita Hand, the plaintiff, of having been the one who carried out the harassment. “To me, it looks like you’re the one who sexually assaulted me in the elevator,” he says.
To conclude his statement, he emphasizes how his family remains strong despite what happened. «Our four beautiful children whose smiling faces and happy hearts are a testament to the man he is and who we are. No one has the right to comment on our relationship: we trust each other and we love each other. Nothing and no one will change that. “Our family remains strong!” he says.
Although Conor himself has communicated his intention to appeal the court’s decision, these acts stain a career that had been one of the most notable in the cage. It is hard for fans to see how their idol falls to vices, and how the latest news that comes out of him is due to his behaviors outside of sport and not because he fights again.
