The Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) has detected that 42% of electronics and household appliances products They have higher prices than the minimum marked during September and October, compared to the 29% that are now cheaper, coinciding with the Black Friday commercial campaign.
This OCU analysis, which has been repeated for years, includes the minimum amount of more than 12,800 electronics and household appliances products in 54 different websites since last September.
In fact, only on eight of these 54 websites were discounts the most common result. According to the OCU survey, these are the online stores of Alcampo, Carrefour, Electrobueno, Electrocosto, Maxmovil, Milar, Phonehouse and Tien21.
The survey also indicates the most frequently discounted products, with average discounts of 8%, such as laptopsthe televisionsthe robot vacuum cleaners and the headphones. Although if it comes to looking for “bargains”, the biggest offers have been found in kitchen robots, expresso coffee makers and, again, televisions.
On the contrary, among the products that increased their price, the average increase was 13%, much higher than the average percentage decrease.
Higher increases affect bracelets and smart watches, cameras and headphones. Curiously, although discounts on headphones are frequent, when they increase in price, they concentrate the largest increases.
The OCU also observes that many of the advertised discounts are not calculated based on the cheapest price of the last 30 days, but rather based on the previous price that best suits the trade (which could even be the recommended price, which is rarely applied ), which is contrary to the regulations.
