Ubaldo Cuestawho has been vice-rector of the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) since June 2023, informed the Governing Council of the university center this Tuesday of his resignation from the position citing “personal reasons”, according to the newspaper. The resignation of the vice-rector comes after the dean of the Faculty of Information Sciences of the Complutense University, Jorge Clemente Mediavillawill denounce pressure from the Rectorate in the investigation commission that tries to clarify in the Madrid Assembly whether there was favorable treatment of the UCM with Begoña Gómezthe wife of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.
As Clemente explained during his speech in the regional parliament, the vice-rector considered his “insistent” request for information about the operation of the extraordinary professorships assigned to the university to be “workplace harassment.” Complutense Universityfor which he reported him to the Services Inspection of the university center.
