The price-bearing profiles of the linear Leroy Merlin They are going to have a second life. The company, which is going to replace them with electronic labels, is immersed in the Zero Waste project inside which around 800 kilos of PVC They will become material for educational actions in schools and rest benches.
The project, which has the participation of the company Shop&Roll, specialized in commercial equipment in the retail sector, delves into the circular economyrecycling and use of waste material as a resource for a new production cycle.
Within this pilot project, Shop&Roll will send about 800 kilos of PVC profiles removed from the Leroy Merlin shops in Gandía and Xátiva, in Valencia, to CM Plastik proximity recycling center.
In these facilities, with the addition of dye, this material is transformed into 2,400 keychains that will be part of the ninth edition of Leroy Merlin’s Hazlo Verde educational action program, which aims to promote environmental education in children.
They will also be manufactured two rest benches for the two Shop&Roll headquarters in Rivas-Vaciamadrid, in Madrid, and in Villanueva de Gállego, in Zaragoza. On them will appear the inscription “The best waste is the one that is not generated. Bench made with recovered profiles.”
This initiative completes the process of replacing price profiles with electronic labels, for which Shop&Roll will also be responsible for supplying Leroy Merlin with the supports to place and communicate the electronic label.
A process within which the design, manufacturing, shipping and installation of all the elements necessary for the perfect placement of the label at the point of sale is undertaken. This development is being undertaken in three phases in all of this brand’s stores.
