The popular jury has found the four men accused of murdering Samuel Luiz guilty, one of them as an accomplice, and has declared the only woman in the trial not guilty, in a case in which there were already two minors convicted of murder.
The first section of the Provincial Court of A Coruña has welcomed the reading of the verdict of the trial against five adults in the case of the death of Samuel Luiz on July 3, 2021, in which the accusations requested sentences of between 22 and 27 years of prison for murder with treachery and cruelty – the latter ruled out by the jury, as well as homophobia, which is not proven either.
For the popular jury, the authors are Diego Montaña, Alejandro Freire ‘Yumba’ and Kaio Amaral Silva – who is also found guilty of the crime of robbery of Samuel’s cell phone -, while Alejandro Míguez was an accomplice of the group; Catherine Silva, unanimously, excludes her from acting in unity of action, although she links her to making defense impossible.
