Juanjo Castrodirector of the documentary 7291 -which reviews the calls shame protocols by Ayuso who left 7,291 elderly people to die without assistance in a pandemic – has denounced the owner of the Poco Cine Estudio cinemas, Jose Gagofor misappropriation and breach of contract. The director made the complaint public on his Instagram profile this Saturday, accusing Gago of wield “an imaginary contract” by which the owner of the cinemas changes the conditions and they always favor him.
“We had a verbal contract for a week, from the 15th to the 21st [de noviembre]”, assures the director Public. However, the filmmaker and owner agreed to advance the first screening to the 14th and after, according to the complaint, some “pressure”, Juanjo Castro finally agreed to extend it until the 22nd, but “he no longer wanted to continue with them.”
“There is no written contract, nor any clause“repeats Castro, who had already warned of his intention to denounce the cinemas if they continued showing the film without his consent.

In a response to a post on the director’s Facebook, Gago reproached Castro for the complaint after Pequeno Cine Estudio had released 7291 when “no one” did. Castro denies this statementsince It was the Verdi Cinemas, on November 13who screened their documentary for the first time.
In this same post, Gago talks about a “release certificate” that Castro needed to present the documentary to the Goyas – which in its requirements asks that a documentary be screened for at least three consecutive days. This newspaper has contacted the owner of Pequeno Cine Estudio, José Gago, but has decided not to make statements.
