The Prosecutor’s Office has decided open an investigation about the fire that a week ago caused ten deaths in a psychogeriatric residence in Villafranca de Ebro (Aragón), according to Efe.
The worst tragedy in a psychogeriatric home so far this century occurred on Friday, November 15, in the Zaragoza municipality of Villafranca de Ebro, where at least ten people inmates at the local residence died in a fire that broke out in a room shortly before five in the morning. The notice was received at 4.57 hours on Friday at 112 alerting that there was a fire in this center specialized in dementia and mental health for the elderly, located on Alfonso Bes Labarta street in Villafranca de Ebro, and the two workers at the residence, together with neighbors, were in charge of evacuating to residents.
