“With the launch of this gateway, we eliminate administrative barriers and we make it easier for citizens in vulnerable situations to receive the help they need automaticallywithout cumbersome procedures or unnecessary delays,” highlights the Minister of Inclusion, Elma Saiz, in the note.
The “gateway” between both benefits begins in the quarter prior to the end of the subsidy for unemployment when the SEPE informs about the possibility of sending your data and that of your family unit, in order to process the IMV benefit. For this, The beneficiary must give his or her consent and, where appropriate, sign a responsible declaration that you have the consent of the members of your family unit.
If consent is authorized, the SEPE will send the necessary information for processing to the National Social Security Institute or to the competent bodies in the cases of the Basque Country and Navarra. In case of recognition of the right to the IMV, it will be received from the date of exhaustion of the subsidy and will be collected on the first day of the month following the month of exhaustion of the subsidythat is, there will be no period of loss of income for recipients. The person holding the Minimum Living Income will, in any case, be the beneficiary of the unemployment benefit.
For those cases in which this procedure cannot be used or when citizens have not given their consent, interested parties may submit their request in the new INSS portal by postal mail or at the Social Security Information and Attention Centers (CAISS). In October, the IMV reached 648,469 homes in which 1,968,152 people live. The average amount of the benefit is 473.41 euros per month per household and, overall, this month’s payroll has amounted to 511.2 million euros.
