At the end of the debate, the mayor took the floor to recognize that she has been in office for more than two and a half years “in the minority” and to establish her ‘roadmap’. The procedure for the question of confidence will consist of the mayor submitting to this procedure in an extraordinary plenary session in which she will defend her management and that of her government team. After this, the three groups with municipal representation – PSOE with twelve councilors, Popular Party with eleven and Vox, whose four councilors have been removed by the mayor from their positions in the Government team – will vote on their confidence in the councilor.
If the mayor loses that vote, a period of one month will be opened, until December 28, so that the parties of the opposition bank present a motion of censure. If they do not register it or if, brought to plenary session, it does not pass the vote, the 2025 budget would be de facto approved.
The mayor has expressed “her sorrow for the breaking of an agreement, which in her words “has worked well for the city.”
