The new Santiago Bernabéu stadium will be the great protagonist of one of the episodes of the program Megastructures from National Geographic, which will be released on December 4 on the channel and on the Disney+ platform, as announced by Real Madrid in a statement.
The chapter will show “a documentary that goes through the construction step by step and total remodeling” of the Madrid temple, including the design of its “avant-garde enveloping metal façade”, as well as the retractable roof, the 360-degree video scoreboard and a large logistics ring.
It will also have space in the program “the great innovation of the new Bernabéu: the preservation of the underground playing field to turn it into a multifunctional space.” “An architectural and engineering milestone never before implementedwith the added challenge of the team continuing to play its games with the stadium under construction,” the club highlights.
To unravel all the secrets of the Madrid stadium, National Geographic brings the white president, Florentino Pérez, as a guestas well as some of the professionals who have made the construction of the new field possible. “An avant-garde symbol, a great monument like this can be,” says the leader in the trailer.
The documentary, named Megastructures: the Bernabéu of the 21st centurywill be released next December 4 at 10:50 p.m. in Spain both on the National Geographic channel and on the Disney+ platform.
