The group acted very conspiratorially, but internally they made no secret of their views. The Federal Prosecutor General (GBA) determined that they called themselves “Saxon Separatists”. Abbreviation: SS. Eight young men who are said to belong to this right-wing extremist terrorist organization, The GBA had him arrested on Tuesday. Among them are, according to information from South German newspaperNDR and WDR also include several Saxon AfD politicians.
The group is a “militant group consisting of fifteen to twenty people whose ideology is shaped by racist, anti-Semitic and partly apocalyptic ideas,” according to the GBA. Its members, some of whom are still young, share a deep rejection of the free-democratic basic order of the Federal Republic of Germany.
:Where he was there was smoke
With the death of Lothar König, the country has lost a combative fighter against right-wing extremism. About someone who was both: a priest and a punk.
From the point of view of the “Saxon Separatists”, Germany is undoubtedly facing a “collapse” and will collapse statewide and socially on an as yet undetermined “Day X”. On this occasion, the group wanted to use armed force to gain territory Conquer Saxony and, if necessary, other East German countries in order to establish a national and social system there that was oriented towards National Socialism. If necessary, undesirable groups of people should be removed from the area through ethnic cleansing.
Treasurer of the Saxon AfD youth arrested
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office announced that the “Saxon Separatists” were founded in November 2020 at the latest. Since then, the group has “continuously prepared for what they see as the inevitable collapse of the system.” Its members have repeatedly completed paramilitary training with combat equipment. According to the authorities, the suspected right-wing extremists particularly practiced urban warfare, the use of firearms, night and forced marches and patrols. The group also acquired military equipment, such as camouflage suits, combat helmets, gas masks and protective vests.
According to information from SZ, NDR and WDR, at least three of those arrested have a connection to the AfD. One is the Saxon AfD politician Kurt H., who sits on the Grimma city council and, according to the website, is a member of the AfD board in the Leipzig district association. Since October he has also been treasurer of the Saxon AfD youth association Junge Alternative (JA).
The German Press Agency reports on officially unconfirmed information from security circles that the man appeared in front of the police officers with a long gun during the raid. An officer then fired two warning shots, it said. The accused suffered a broken jaw and is currently undergoing surgery. Witness interviews will clarify how the injury occurred and further details about the incident.
According to security circles, two other members of the Junge Alternative are also among those arrested, Kevin R. and Hans-Georg P. The latter temporarily sat on the Leipzig-Ost district council from autumn 2021, sent by the AfD. Kevin R. appeared together with the accused Grimma AfD city councilor Kurt H. in 2019 at an AfD event in his Leipzig-Land district association. On Remembrance Day, they played music as a brass duo, according to a Facebook post. The defendants’ defense lawyers could not be reached. The Junge Alternative says it is still checking whether there is a connection to members of the JA.
The AfD left unanswered a query as to whether those arrested were party members. They distanced themselves from the suspected terrorist group. “We have no connection with such a presumably neo-Nazi “separatist group” in terms of content or organization,” said the party’s press office. “If the allegations against party members are confirmed, they will be immediately expelled from the AfD.”
Relation to the “Siege” ideology
The President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution announced that several actors were known to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution from other contexts such as the spectrum of the New Right, right-wing extremist parties or the neo-Nazi scene. “The central protagonists of this group are partly very young right-wing extremists who have connections to a scene that is particularly active in virtual space,” said Thomas Haldenwang.
This is about the “Siege Scene”. The English term means siege and refers to a collection of writings by the American right-wing extremist James Nolan Mason from the 1980s. There are thought games regarding a racist-terrorist guerrilla war, which is primarily aimed at infrastructure and political leaders in order to plunge society into a race war.
According to information from security circles, the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution first came to the attention of the ringleader of the alleged association: Jörg S. He was observed for a longer period of time. His brother Jörn has now also been arrested. His name appears on a list of participants in a right-wing extremist memorial march. Her father is a well-known Austrian right-wing extremist who was close to the Holocaust denier Gottfried Küssel. In the 1990s he led a neo-Nazi comradeship in the Krems-Land district and was himself a member of a right-wing extremist paramilitary group and organized military training exercises.
The eight German nationals were taken into custody early in the morning at various locations in and around Leipzig, in Dresden, in the Saxon district of Meißen and in Zgorzelec, Poland, on the basis of arrest warrants, said the Federal Prosecutor General. Six of them were taken into custody on Tuesday. The investigating judge at the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe executed the arrest warrants, a spokeswoman for the Federal Prosecutor’s Office told the German Press Agency. The remaining two men still have to be brought to Karlsruhe.
Around 550 police officers, including special forces, were deployed for the arrests and searches at around 20 locations in Germany. There were also searches in Austria. Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) called the arrests an “important investigative success.” She emphasized: “The fact that weapons were trained and military equipment was procured shows how dangerous these right-wing extremists are.”
According to the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation is also directed against seven other suspects. Those at large are suspected of being members of a terrorist organization, and in one case it is about support.
