The Brazilian center back underwent surgery this Tuesday for the injury he suffered against Osasuna on November 9
Real Madrid footballer Éder Militao underwent surgery to completely tear the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee this Tuesday morning. The center-back has not taken the field since last November 9 in the whites’ league match at the Bernabéu against Osasuna.
In that match, the former Porto player’s knee got stuck in a dead ball action in the rival area. The Brazilian fell to the ground showing clear signs of pain and was taken away by doctors on a stretcher.
The intervention was carried out by Dr. Manuel Leyes under the supervision of Real Madrid’s medical services. The white club has announced that “it will begin its recovery process in the coming days.”
This is the second major knee injury that Militao has suffered in the last 15 months, although in the most recent one the left one was affected. Furthermore, this time the center back has damaged menisci. Therefore, Militao is expected to be out for nine months.
