The Vecinas y Vecinos de Barrios y Pueblos de Madrid platform has addressed the Minister of Health of the Community of Madrid, Fátima Matute, demanding a response to the 20,000 claims presented by this group.
Months ago, this space launched a complaints collection campaign through different neighborhoods and towns of Madrid and its Community.
At the multiple tables located at the entrances to health centers and hospitals, the volunteers of this movement asked about the response of the Madrid public health system to the citizens, taking an interest in their personal situation, informing them of their rights and helping them in carrying out the claim.
To date, more than 20,000 paper claims have been registered, and it has been reported how also do it through the internet on the website of the Ministry of Health for this purpose.
Despite indicating in your claim form “if your claim had not been answered within one month from when you filed it…”the ministry has not responded and that is why they have gone directly to the head of Madrid’s public health system.
Representatives of the platform state that “the claims are related to the delay in primary care where, in some health centers, the wait exceeds a month.
Also in consultations with a specialist and diagnostic tests; the absence of pediatricians and, finally, the lack of doctors in out-of-hospital emergencies.
There are more than a million Madrid residents on the waiting list; there is a lack of professionals in primary and hospital care; and in the so-called PAC (former SUAP-SAR), “which surely influenced the loss of several lives,” they denounce.
Next December they will once again hold a massive submission of claims despite confirming that, until now, “the department ignores the claims presented.”
