This Monday started with clear or slightly cloudy skies in almost the entire country, unlike the Canary Islands, where locally strong rainfall is occurring in the form of a storm. Temperatures are generally mild, with maximums of up to 24 degrees in Malaga or Murcia, which will go descending little by little with the passing of the days.
On Tuesday the forecast is similar although, in the afternoon, it will begin to approach a front that could leave precipitation in Galicia and the Cantabrian area. In addition, the Aemet registers yellow warnings for coastal winds in Cantabria and the Basque Country for part of the afternoon and evening.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, November 20, the front will already penetrate Spain from the north of the peninsula, leaving cloudy or covered skies in the northern half of the Peninsula with precipitation affecting Galicia, the Cantabrian area, the upper Ebro, northern Iberia, the Pyrenees and northeastern Catalonia, most abundantly in the eastern Cantabrian, where there is a probability of reaching persistent and locally strong.
Furthermore, the Aemet warns that it is not ruled out that these rains could end up reaching other points from the northern half of the peninsula and the north of the Balearic Islands, with a greater probability of falling in mountain environments.
Snow and lower temperatures
If we continue talking about precipitation, the meteorological organization indicates that, by mid-week, in the form of snow in the Pyreneeswith significant accumulations at a level that will drop from 2000 meters to around 1500 m. Snowfall is also not ruled out in other mountains in the extreme north.
Regarding temperatures, the maximums will decrease progressively since Monday, although there will not be drastic falls in them. In this way, some of the lowest minimum temperatures will occur in Teruel, with four degrees, six in Burgos and Palencia or seven in Valladolid, Soria or Vitoria. It should be remembered that these temperatures occur along with strong winds in several areas of the north of the country such as the Cantabrian coast, inland areas of the outer third or in certain areas of the Mediterranean.
