Israel bombed the headquarters of the Arab Socialist Baath Party In Lebanon, the Lebanese branch of the pan-Arab party that maintains power in Syria with Bashar Al Assad, located in the Beirut neighborhood of Ras al Nabaa, in the south of the capital, the general secretary of the political group has reported, Ali Yousef Hegazy.
“The bombing targeted the party command building in Ras Al Nabaaand the general secretary of the party, Ali Hegazy, was not in the building,” the political leader himself indicated through his official X account, citing an initial statement from the central command of the Baath party.
In the brief publication, he added that “the other details will be announced after the rubble is lifted.”
Hezbollah spokesman Mohamed Afifi, is among the dead caused by Israel’s bombing of the headquarters of the Arab Socialist Baath Party in Lebanon, as reported by the general secretary of the political group Ali Yusef Hegazy.
In a television intervention on the channel Al Mayadin After having confirmed via social networks that the headquarters of the party, the Lebanese branch of the pan-Arab party that maintains power in Syria with Bashar Al Assad, had been destroyed by an Israeli attack, Hegazy reported that Afifi was in the building and that has died.
The Lebanese Shiite group has not yet commented on the matter.
In that sense, Hegazy has indicated that the attack on the party headquarters and Afifi occurred in the “framework of continuous threats” against the group since the beginning “of the Israeli aggression” against Lebanon.
“What is sought from these attacks is to silence the voice of the resistance in the media and at the political level, since that exposes them (…) they have not been fighting with weapons nor have they led any military unit of Hezbollah, but rather they led a media unit“Hegazy said.
The attack occurred in the Beirutian neighborhood of Ras al Nabaa, a peripheral area in the south of the capital but considered part of its metropolitan area. The Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health has announced in a statement that the Israeli attack against this building in Ras al Nabaa caused, in a first assessment, the death of one person and injuries to three others, while it has detailed that the work to remove the rubble they are still ongoing.
The Baath Party – originally the party of Al Assad in Syria and Saddam Hussein in Iraq – is present in other countries in the Middle East region and defends a nationalist ideologyof unification and pan-Arab socialism, as well as presenting an anti-imperialist stance.
This specific attack occurs on the same day that Israel has launched a series of attacks since early in the morning against several towns in the southern Lebanonwhich have left at least 11 fatalities.
