The trial of one of the recent crimes that has caused the most commotion in Valencia: the murder with sexual assault of Wafaa Sebbahe, a 19-year-old girl whose body took almost two years to find because whoever killed her threw it into an irrigation well with a ballast tied to it.
Before doing everything possible to leave no trace of his action, the confessed perpetrator of the death – David, 30 years old – had tiedhim shot and stabbedin addition to forcing unwanted physical contact.
A popular court will judge next week in the Valencia Court the only suspect who has acknowledged having killed the young woman, starting on Tuesday, November 19 and for ten days, as reported by sources from the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community. (TSJCV).
It happened on November 17, 2019 in Carcaixent. The popular jury will decide whether the defendant and the victim, who sometimes coincided with the same group of friendsthey went together to a farm belonging to his family, where he allegedly tried to have sexual relations with the young woman, to which she refused.
Faced with this resistance, the man tied her up, sexually assaulted her, shot her with a pellet gun with the intention of causing her pain, and stabbed her. The jury must consider proven or not proven whether, with the intention of hiding what happened, he covered her nose and mouth and threw the young woman’s body into a well of irrigation with a ballast tied to an ankle.
The young woman’s body was located on June 17, 2021 on that farm owned by the defendant’s family, who has numerous records of gender violence.
The Prosecutor’s Office considers that the facts constitute the crimes of murder with treachery and sexual assault with aggravating gender and discrimination based on racistsin addition to, in the case of private prosecution, a crime committed in the exercise of fundamental rights and public freedoms, illegal detention and illicit possession of arms.
Reviewable permanent prison petition
The Public Ministry requests permanent prison reviewable for David S. for the murder of Wafaa and another eight years in prison for sexual assault, acts that he considers he committed with the aggravating circumstances of gender and racial discrimination. For its part, the young woman’s family requests the same permanent reviewable prison and 33 years in prison for the murder, rape and kidnapping of the girl plus the illicit possession of weapons.
Wafaa Sebbah, a resident of the Valencian town of Pobla Llarga, disappeared in Carcaixent in November 2019. ‘Tuvi’ was arrested in June 2021 as the alleged perpetrator of the crime after the body was located in the well on the farm.
Convicted of trying to strangle his ex
In July of this same year, the First Section of the Provincial Court of Valencia sentenced three years of prison to ‘Tuvi’ for a crime of injuries against one ex-partner to which tried to strangle in 2020 and, in addition, another ten months in prison for breaking the restraining order that he had against her.
The sentence considered it proven that, after an argument, he grabbed his victim by the neck with his hand and squeezed her tightly, but she struggled and was able to free herself. When the woman began to scream, he grabbed her from behind again and with his forearm he squeezed her neck tightly until he stopped, he let her go and she fell to the ground. As a result of this attack, the woman suffered multiple injuries.
