Two people died and a third suffered a hand amputation as a result of a serious accident that occurred during the prior inspection of the vehicles participating in the rally. The mayor of Ensenada, Claudia Agatón Muñizreiterated the demand that Score International assume its responsibility and cover the medical and funeral expenses of the victims, as well as reinforce security protocols in future events.
«We cannot allow human failures of this magnitude put attendees and participants at risk of such an important event for our city,” Agatón Muñiz declared to ‘La Voz de la Frontera’.
The Mexican newspaper publishes that “the tragic accident has generated commotion among the community and has put the security measures implemented in the Baja 1000, one of the most representative sporting events in the region.
