Although Eva González is currently the presenter of La Voz, for more than five years of her life she was the visible face of MasterChef, one of the most successful formats in the history of TVE. However, in 2018 the model and presenter ended that stage and signed for Antena 3, a decision that the chef Pepe Rodriguez he explained in the podcast La Escalera Roja.
At the beginning of the interview, the Illescas chef explains why the figure of someone like González was necessary. «Why does Eva enter MasterChef? Because they didn’t trust us,” jokes the Illescas chef, which goes back to the casting of the program, when the producer thought that a well-known face was necessary given the inexperience on television of the three chefs (who act as judges).
