The data of Social Security affiliates in the tourism sector of Extremadura have been recorded during the month of October the highest number since 2011.
Specifically, a total of 28,032 affiliated with Social Security in October, according to statistics published this Friday by Turespaña.
This figure It is the highest for a month of October since the beginning of the historical seriesin 2011, when 21,259 members were counted. The increase was 1.57 percent compared to the same month in 2023.
Of the 28,733 members linked to tourist activities, 20,185 were salaried (1.56 percent more in annual comparison) and 7,847 self-employedwhich represents an increase of 1.59 percent. This growth in the number of self-employed people in Extremadura is the highest of all the Autonomous Communities.
Compared to October 2019, the year before the pandemic, the sector has 2,074 more Social Security affiliates, which represents an increase of 8 percent.
