TOLEDO.- The Cortes of Castilla-La Mancha have rejected this Thursday the amendments to the entire that PP and Vox have presented to the Community Board’s budget bill for 2025, so the public accounts continue with their parliamentary processing.
The amendments to the entirety have been debated separately in the plenary session of the regional Parliament, which began with a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the torrential rains of October 29, which left seven people dead in Castilla-La Mancha and more than 220 in the country as a whole.
On this matter, the Minister of the Treasury, Public Administrations and Digital Transformation, Juan Alfonso Ruiz Molina, has stressed that, since the budget is “focused on the real needs” of the regionhas committed to promoting the partial amendments that are relevant for the recovery plans for municipalities affected by DANAamong them Letur (Albacete) and Mira (Cuenca), have the “necessary and sufficient” credit.
In general terms, he has assured that the public accounts aim to fulfill the “main priority that a good government that thinks about the people must set” and that involves “promoting the fair distribution of wealth to improve the quality of life and the well-being of all citizens and enhance and encourage economic development”.
And all of this, prepared in a rigorous manner and with prudent growth forecastswhich have resulted in the Community Board’s budget for 2025 amounting to 12,716 million euros, of which are allocated 7,125 million for social spending and another 3,080 million euros for economic development, as well as more than 2,000 million to address depopulation.
“BLACK NOVEL”
On the other hand, he has rejected that in his amendments to the entirePP and Vox “do not dedicate a single line to informing how they would distribute the budget for what the bill intends, which is to improve the well-being of citizens” and has compared them to “black novels” that have ttried to “paint an apocalyptic situation of the region”.
After stating that he had to take a paracetamol to be able to read the entire amendments presented by the opposition, he analyzed them separately and, specifically, that of Vox – which received the vote against PP and PSOE – has said that “the only thing that becomes clear is that there is a reeks of xenophobia, misogyny and climate denialism” and that “they have taken it up with the Ministry of Equality.”
Regarding the amendment to the entire PP – which has received the vote against the PSOE and the abstention of Vox -, he has pointed out that they have painted “an apocalyptic and catastrophic situation in the region”, for which they have “used in a distorted manner” economic magnitudes and has asked how the “recipe of lowering taxes and increasing spending, without deficit or debt” can be applied.
“IT DOES NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT REALITY”
On the other hand, the deputy vice-spokesman of the PP in the Cortes, Santiago Serrano, who has been in charge of defending the amendment to the entire budget that his group has presented for 2025, has stated that the accounts confirm “a departure from reality” of the Executive autonomous.
For this reason, he has urged the regional government to “work seriously” on next year’s budget and to “take into account the socioeconomic reality of the region.”
Serrano has rejected that the 2025 budget reveals that the political project of the PSOE in the autonomous community “involves more debt, more taxes, more deficit and less investments”, while at the same time it represents a “new forgetfulness of the large projects that Castilla needs.” The Mancha”.
Specifically, Serrano has denounced that, instead of reducing the tax burden in the autonomous community, the regional government proposes a tax increase for 2025, such as the creation of the water fee, while at the same time it has made the increase in public debt ugly. by more than 3 billion euros since 2015, but this has not translated into more infrastructure or public services for citizens.
For all these reasons, he considered that “there are too many arguments not to approve the public accounts and the people of Castile-La Mancha have too many arguments not to trust this regional government that only leads them to more taxes, less purchasing power and fewer opportunities.”
For his part, the president of the Vox parliamentary group in the Cortes of Castilla-La Mancha, David Moreno, has requested the return of the budgets because “there is nowhere to catch them” and has defended his amendment in its entirety because the accounts “lead to the ruin and precariousness of public services with continuity and cutback policies.”
For Vox, the budgets for 2025 “are not realistic” because they do not respond to the needs of the people of Castile-La Mancha but to “political privileges” to benefit “partisan” interests, while at the same time they reflect the “disastrous management” of the regional Executive.
However, the PSOE deputy in the Cortes Fernando Mora has valued the budget project and has claimed that in the ten years of PSOE government in the region indicators have improved, although he has admitted that “of course there are problems, nobody denies.”
And it has rejected the amendments to all of both parties, because in the case of the PP they always repeat the same arguments and, in the case of Vox, it is a “real shame”.
Once the Cortes have rejected the amendments in their entirety, the deadline for submitting partial amendments and it will be the turn for the Government Council to appear at the Budget Commission of the Cortes to detail its items.
