This week Consum has also launched a Non-refundable Donation Plan and Loans at 0% interest to financially help the nearly 1,000 workers who have been affected by DANA out of the more than 21,000 it has. The cooperative itself has promoted this Donation Plan among Workers with a first contribution of 4 million euros of its funds. This sum will be increased with the donations that colleagues make until next November 24 via bank transfer or bizum.
The total amount of donations, including the 4 million euros contributed by Consum, will be distributed through the Social Committee, the highest representative body of the working members of the Cooperative, among the affected colleagues, according to the degree of impact they have suffered. .
Furthermore, before loss of homes, vehicles and belongings of their property as a result of DANA, a line of credit has been approved so that the staff can request loans at 0% interest and 2 years grace periodguaranteed by the share capital or by the cooperative in the case of worker members with lower share capital or non-member workers.
The amounts
The amount of these loans will vary depending on the mandatory share capital that each partner has and the degree of impact on their assets, with a maximum of 52,000 euros for members with equal or greater capital of 26,000 euros and a maximum of 26,000 euros for members with less capital or non-members. The maximum repayment period for loans for working partners is five years, including a two-year grace period.
Consum has also reinforced its Emotional Care Service, which was launched during the pandemic, and its Online Medical Service, to provide coverage for workers in the stores, the headquarters and the logistics platforms of Silla, Ribarroja and Quart, which They are in the areas affected by the storm.
Transportation service
With the aim of facilitating the transfer of workers, it has also launched a bus service that links Valencia with the Logistics Platform and the Consum headquarters in Silla. The service departs from Avenida Tres Cruces in València and is not allowed to make stops in the towns located on the Pista de Silla, but as the authorities reduce restrictions, the route will be adapted with new schedules and new stops.
The workers of the Quart and Ribarroja Platforms also have a bus that connects this same point in València with these two logistics centers, making stops in the towns of Xirivella and Aldaia.
