The Valencian Cortes postpone the plenary session of Mazón’s appearance for DANA

The session will finally be held on Friday, November 15 before the notice red level due to rain along the entire coast of the province of Valencia decreed for this Thursday by the State Meteorological Agency, as reported by sources from the regional chamber.

Aemet foresees a probability of accumulated precipitation of up to 180 liters per square meter (l/m2) in just 12 hours. The alert is active from 9:00 p.m. this Wednesday until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday and the time of greatest meteorological “adversity” will be at dawn.

The state agency warns that the danger is “extreme” and of the possibility of overflowing of channels and flooding. In this situation, ask for great caution and avoid travel.

Finally, it will be on Friday when Mazón explains to the rest of the political formations the chronology of the DANA events of October 29, how his government managed the emergency and what are the steps to follow in a new stage of legislature in which they are expected changes in the Consell, with several names of councilors in the mix.

Also, the focus is on explaining the reasons for sending the mass alert to mobile phones of the population after 8:00 p.m. that day, when the water had already flooded the affected areas, as well as the information available to the Consell from organizations such as the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation (CHJ) or the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet); in the analysis of possible “errors” in the management of the emergency and in the reconstruction scenario that is coming now.

Mazón has assured that this appearance, now postponed to Friday, will be the starting point to “start talking about politics”, but the moment has not been specified when he will talk about a possible remodeling of his executive, a government crisis that has been slipping in recent days, to face the “new circumstances and challenges” after the DANA catastrophe. “We are working to adapt the entire structure of the Consell to the reconstruction work” is what the president has been pointing out.

Along these lines, both Mazón and Vice President Susana Camarero have summoned this appearance in recent days to give the pertinent explanations about the management of DANA. «Everything that happened on the 29th will be detailed, every hour, every message, every call.each information received and, therefore, how we acted from there,” Camarero advanced this Tuesday. “It is important to tell what happened on the 29th, but also to report on how the structure of the Consell will be remodeled” in order to face the “new reality” after DANA, he added.
