A religious has died and three other people have been injured after being attacked in the monastery of the Holy Spirit of Mountin Gilet (Valencia), by a man for whom he still seeks Civil Guard.
According to Benemérita, After jumping over the monastery fence, seven of the religious were attacked who were there, one of whom has died. No arrest has yet been made for the events, since the suspect has fled and now he is searched for in the nearby mountains.
For his part, the provincial of the Franciscans of the Immaculate Conception, Fray Joaquín Zurera Ribó, has released a statement in which he recounts the event and explains that a person has entered the convent and gone attacking the religious who were in their rooms.
Sources from the Archbishopric of Valencia have confirmed the death of this religious and the attack suffered by several members of the congregation, which occurred this Saturday morning, they have reported from the Civil Guard, whose Agents search for the aggressor in the nearby mountains.

The Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU) has detailed that around 10:00 a.m. The notice has been received to assist several injured friars in the Holy Spirit of Gilet Monastery, so different health resources have been mobilized to the place. Specifically, a SAMU has moved to a 76-year-old man due to head trauma to the Clinical Hospital; while SVB units have transferred three others injured due to trauma or bruises to the Sagunto hospital. It is about three men aged 57, 66 and 95 years old.
The religious institution condemns this aggression and joins the suffering of the brothers, “with the injuries in the body and pain in the soul for what they have experienced, which, without a doubt, leaves a deep mark on people.
“We also ask for the aggressor to who is aware of the damage and is able to rectify a behavior not at all typical of the human condition. This event is also asking all of us brothers to be more attentive to prevent people from entering our fraternities who could cause damage of any kind, and thus know how to take care of each other.”
