In a society hit by the pandemic and burdened since then by a growing increase in the cost of living, Trump has paradoxically presented himself as the outsider who came to solve the crisis from the outside in front of the vice president of a Government that is held responsible for the exponential increase in the cost of living in recent years. The reflection of many of those surveyed on the high cost of the shopping basket places the center of the decision in very real terms for people’s daily lives.
The character’s charisma can hide a voting decision that is more rational than emotional, a vote for Trump despite Trump. The fact that only Trump is talked about has given publicity to a movement that has placed signs in the lawns of American homes with different variations of a very simple slogan: Trump-Vance: lower prices, lower taxes.
