The head of the UME on DANA: “The narrative is going to change because the truth always emerges”

The chief general of the Military Emergency Unit (UME)Francisco Javier Marcos, appeared again at a press conference this Friday. On this occasion, unlike Mondayhe has not done it from Moncloa but from Ministry of Defense.

As he did a few days ago, he has insisted on sending a clear message in response to the questions that have been raised about his work. “It has been clear that we were there from the beginning”he insisted when asked by the media.

Of course we have not reached some doors, we cannot work like crazy, we have to prioritize but we are already reaching everyone,” he highlighted.

Marcos also wanted to send a direct message to the Valencian citizens. “Our biggest challenge is to make sure people can do what they always do as soon as possible.”. I assure you that the Armed Forces will be with you as long as it takes, we will continue giving it as long as it takes. It is very hard to ask for patience, I ask you to be calm, because we will be with all Valencians without rest until the end,” he proclaimed.

Ten days after the tragedy, the head of the UME has highlighted that what is underway It is not a military operation but an emergency operation. “As long as there is only one missing person, we are still in the first phase,” he noted in this regard.

In the same way, Marcos has valued the “excellent coordination” currently of the Armed Forces with the Valencian Generalitat and with all the ministries through the Crisis Committee. “They have exact information about what is happening,” he said.
