«The rule of law, the rule of law and the division of powers are more than principles, they are the foundations upon which we build our society,” he said at the official opening of the XXX Conference of the Association of Lawyers of the Constitutional Court, which this year is being held in Malaga under the title ‘Rule of Law and division of powers’.
Specifically, he wanted to remember that the Rule of Law It implies that “all, without exception, are subject to the law.” In this sense, he has indicated that “judges and magistrates must respect the rule of law and, at the same time, are obliged not to interfere in the functioning of the other powers of the State, publicly respecting the resolutions of the representatives of said powers.” ».

On the other hand, Count-Pumpido has highlighted that “the work of the Constitutional Court is essential in this process, ensuring that institutions act within the framework of legality and that each citizen can live in an environment of Justice and respect.”
He has also highlighted the value of the TC’s rulings as a reflection of its commitment to the rule of law and the division of powers. «Each sentence is, not only an act of Justice, but a clear message that the Constitution is the pillar that sustains our democracy,” he stated.
He has also recognized the important work of the TC lawyers, particularly in relation to the work that has been carried out in the last two years for the priority resolution of matters of greatest social importance or with greatest delay.
Likewise, he has praised the collaboration of lawyers in the success of the action plan launched at the beginning of 2023, which has allowed the reduction of the time to decide on the admission of amparo appeals.
